Iran bans import of medical supplies that can be produced domestically

According to Iran’s “IFPnews” report on May 13, Acting Minister Hussein Modares Shiabani said on Wednesday that in order to support and encourage domestic production, industrial and mining trade The ministry has refused to approve the import of medical supplies that can be produced domestically. Domestic N95 masks, protective clothing and coronavirus testing kits have been approved for unrestricted export to support domestic manufacturers and meet foreign anti-epidemic needs. The acting minister pointed out that the supply of the above three products exceeds demand in Iran, and Iran has become an export center for medical supplies related to the new coronavirus. In addition, the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, the Ministry of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration jointly approved the export of domestically produced ventilators, life monitors, and home oxygen saturation monitors, with the export quota being half of the output. </p
