On August 17, 2020, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat issued Announcement No. 53 of 2020 in the Official Gazette of the Federal Government. In response to an application submitted by the Brazilian Textile and Garment Industry Association, the Brazilian Textile and Garment Industry Association Anti-dumping investigations have been launched on socks from China, Paraguay and Hong Kong. The products under this investigation are men’s socks, women’s socks, infant socks, and are used for daily, leisure, social or sports use. Animal (dog) socks are no longer within the scope of this investigation. This case involves all 24 products under Mercosur tax code 6225 and all 4 products under 6221. The dumping investigation period in this case is from July 2018 to June 2019, and the damage investigation period is from July 2014 to June 2019.

The questionnaire will be sent to each exporter/manufacturer, importer and other domestic manufacturers. Stakeholders should pass the SDD Digital within 30 days from receipt of the questionnaire. Information system (address: http://decomdigitasdfssdfsl.mdic.gov.br) to submit answer sheets. Interested parties may request a hearing within 5 months of the initiation of the investigation.
