Turkey’s Hurriyet Dasdfssily News reported that in August 2020, Turkey’s ready-to-wear apparel industry’s exports to more than 160 countries around the world reached US$1.5 billion, an increase of nearly 22% compared with the same period in 2019, of which Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom accounted for nearly 1.5 billion U.S. dollars. Half, the ready-made clothing and accessories industry replaced the automobile industry to become Turkey’s largest export industry in August.
Turkey’s ready-to-wear apparel exports to Germany increased by 7% in August from the previous year to US$271 million, making it the largest export market, followed by Spain, which increased by 14% to US$250 million, and the United Kingdom, which increased by 27% to US$271 million. Exports to the Netherlands increased by 33% to US$125 million.
Turkey’s ready-to-wear apparel industry’s exports to the EU increased by nearly 16%, amounting to US$1.2 billion. </p
