Months later, garment factories were back to paying workers in cash.  Microfinance Opportunities collaborated with the South Asian Economic Modeling Network (Sasdfssdfsnem) to conduct the research under a project titled &#8220;Diary of a Garment Worker&#8221;.  Sasdfssdfsnem said in a press release that there will be a huge shift in the way workers are paid digitally in May.  In the following months, the share of digital payments slowly declined.  Ready-made garment companies, suppliers of Bangladeshi brands, started cutting back on digital payments in August, when 76% paid their wages electronically, down from 87% in July.
