The report shows that in 2011, the export value of textiles, clothing, and other textile products accounted for 56.87% of Sri Lanka’s total manufacturing exports; the total export value of textiles and clothing was US$5.952 billion. , an increase of 9.5% compared with the same period in 2021. <\/p>\n
However, the country’s textile and clothing exports in December 2011 fell 9.7% compared with the same period in 2021, reaching US$482 million. By category, apparel exports fell by 8.7% to US$440 million, textile exports fell by 23.3% to US$29.8 million, and exports of other textile products fell by 4% to US$9.1 million. <\/p>\n
On the other hand, imports of textiles and other textile products decreased by 0.1% to US$3.065 billion in 2011, and imports of clothing and accessories fell by 2.6% to US$216 million. <\/p>\n
